Terms of Service

1. Who we are and acceptance of terms

Ipoh.my (the "Service") is operated by Tech Ninja Enterprise (003276888-W), a business registered in Malaysia ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Ipoh.my is a directory that surfaces creators' publicly available videos and related information about places in and around Ipoh. We organise links to those videos and show them through each platform's official embed; we do not host, download, or re-upload the underlying videos.

Place details, opening hours, prices, and rankings are provided for general information. They can be out of date or wrong, so check with the business before relying on them.

3. Accounts and conduct

You need an account to bookmark, like, submit, report, or buy anything, and some features also require a verified email address. Give accurate details, keep your password secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.

You agree not to misuse the Service: no unlawful, misleading, or abusive content; no impersonating a creator or a business; no automated scraping, fake accounts, or attempts to manipulate likes, views, or rankings; and nothing that interferes with the Service's operation or security. We may remove content, and suspend or close an account, that breaks these Terms.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. What happens to your data when you do is set out in our Privacy Policy.

4. User submissions and moderation

Anyone may submit a link to a publicly available video. By submitting, you confirm the details are accurate and you are acting in good faith, and you are not misrepresenting who created it. The right to display a video comes from the platform's embed and the creator's embedding settings — not from whoever submits the link. Submissions may be reviewed, edited, or removed at our discretion.

Businesses may claim their listing and creators may claim their profile. A claim is reviewed before it is approved, and we may ask for more proof, refuse a claim, or reverse one that turns out to be wrong.

A creator profile earns the Verified badge when its owner proves control of it: a YouTube channel by signing in with Google; a TikTok or Instagram profile by sending us a one-time code from that profile to @ipohdotmy; a Facebook profile or Page by placing the code in its Intro until we confirm it. We check codes by hand. A code lasts seven days and works for one profile only.

5. Third-party platforms and embeds

The Service links to and embeds content from third-party platforms (including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook). Your use of that content is also governed by those platforms' own terms and policies. If a creator removes a video or turns off embedding, it stops playing here.

6. Intellectual property and takedown

Creators retain all rights to their content. If you are a creator and want your video removed, use our content removal form — no account needed — and we will review it promptly.

The Ipoh.my name, logo, and site design belong to us. Do not copy them, or pass anything off as coming from Ipoh.my, without our written permission.

7. Advertising

Ipoh.my may display advertising within its own pages. Ads are clearly labeled, served by us rather than a third-party ad network, and are never injected into or wrapped around embedded videos.

Payments. Payments on Ipoh.my are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details. Advertising credits and Spotlight subscriptions are not refundable except where Malaysian law requires it; the details are in our Advertising Terms.

No endorsement. Advertisements do not represent the views, opinions, or recommendations of Ipoh.my. The appearance of an advertiser on the Service is not an endorsement, verification, or recommendation of that advertiser, its business, or anything it sells, and it does not indicate any partnership or affiliation beyond the purchase of advertising space.

Advertiser responsibility. Advertisers are solely responsible for the content and legality of their banners and of the pages they link to. We do not independently verify advertisers' claims, prices, availability, licences, or the quality of their goods and services.

Your dealings with advertisers. Any transaction, correspondence, or dispute between you and an advertiser is solely between you and that advertiser. To the extent permitted by law, Ipoh.my is not a party to it and is not liable for any loss or damage arising from it.

Editorial independence. Buying advertising does not buy placement, ranking, or favourable treatment in our listings, search results, or trending rankings, and it does not affect how we handle a content-removal request.

Spotlight creator cards. A creator may pay us to highlight their own videos, which draws an animated border on the cards linking to them. Those cards carry a Spotlight badge in the corner of the card, so you can always tell. A paid highlight buys visual prominence in our own page furniture and nothing else: it does not change where a video appears in our listings, search results, or trending rankings; it does not affect how we moderate that video or how we handle a removal request about it; and it is not an endorsement, verification, or recommendation of the creator or the video by Ipoh.my. An unhighlighted video is not ranked lower for being unhighlighted.

Spotlight places on the map. A business that has claimed its listing may pay us to highlight that listing on our map. While it is running, its map marker is drawn differently and its popup carries an animated border and a Spotlight badge, so you can always tell. It buys visual prominence on the map and nothing else: it does not change where a place appears in our listings, search results, or trending rankings; it does not affect how we moderate that listing or how we handle a removal request about it; and it is not an endorsement, verification, or recommendation of the business by Ipoh.my. A place that is not highlighted is not ranked lower for it. The videos shown on a place are not affected — a video card is highlighted only when its own creator pays for it.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, and we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from content supplied by creators, businesses, advertisers, or other users. Nothing in these Terms excludes a liability or right that Malaysian law, including the Consumer Protection Act 1999, does not allow to be excluded.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time, and the "Last updated" date above shows when they last changed. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
